I In the vibrant city of Chicago, back in 1921, a man by the name of Walker Pine made an exciting acquisition—the flashy and luxurious, brand new Kissel Sport Tourster. However, rumors swirled around Walker’s association with “the mob” during that time, adding an air of intrigue to the story of this remarkable vehicle.
The car’s fate took an unexpected turn in 1922 when Walker found himself caught in a hail of bullets. A gunshot struck his hip while he was was driving this Kissel Sport Tourster. Though fortunate to survive the attack, Walker was forced into hiding, seeking refuge in the state of Indiana. Remarkably, the bullet hole in the lower cowl of the car remains to this day, a visible reminder of its dramatic past.
Following the incident, the Kissel Sport Tourster was carefully stowed away inside a house, where it remained hidden from the world along with Walker Pine, for over three decades. The passing of time did little to diminish its allure, and in 1960, the car was finally freed from its long seclusion.
The Kissel Sport Tourster then passed through the hands of several owners who recognized its historical significance. Each custodian, including noted @ntique car collector Joe Antrim, preserved its low mileage, ensuring the car remained in pristine condition. It is known that as of 1960, this car had only 9000 miles on its odometer. It became a treasured artifact, cherished for its unique story and exceptional craftsmanship.
